Spring at 6,000 ft.

Can this possibly be Arizona?  Vic thinks we should get our money back for each day the sun doesn't shine.  We re in our fifth month here and this is likely the sixth day with little sun - not a shabby record, I believe.
We drove a few miles south of our RV park to 6,ooo ft elevation and into elk country for the day.
At this elevation there is predominately juniper and ponderosa forest.  We are headed for the rim of Clear Creek.

Much of the area is National Forest and grazing land thus their are cattle guards or fences that you are asked to keep closed.  Most of the fences are pretty primitive such as this one with the tank beyond.

The rim - when Vic wanted a photo of the Jeep parked here above Clear Creek I suggested that perhaps he'd like to hang a wheel over the edge.

Clear Creek is at the bottom of this canyon.

The surprise was the number of flowers in bloom at this elevation.

The worst part was that absolutely none of them would hold still due to the breeziness - argh.

Vic spotted this web with the hole.  We didn't see the spider until I uploaded the photo.  Can you see it in the hole?
