Both of these trails are relatively short and nearby each other. It was easy to do both in one day. They are in the Sedona vicinity so the color is fabulous.
We crossed this area right before reaching the cabin.
Earl Van Deren bought the 43-acre parcel from the man who originally homesteaded the land. Earl moved the north cabin between 1924 and 1929. In 1930 he decided to marry and built the south cabin then connected them with a common roof. Two movies were filmed here in the 1940s. Signs warn to watch for rattlesnakes in the cabin. It was a warm day and we chose not to go inside.
We returned here to eat our lunch and listen to the water.

Vic doing what he likes best - playing on a steep, rocky hillside. Photography doesn't do it justice. It's far steeper than it appears here.
Love Sedona,
ReplyDeleteWhen are you heading back to NY. Sorry we didn't get to meet up. You had the best trails this year!!!!!!!
