A Different Kind of Color - Early Snow

Three to four inches of the heavy, white wet stuff greeted us this morning upon awakening. Snow is very unusual so early in the season. A nor'easter is expected to hit our area tomorrow afternoon and evening which will dump more snow.
It was fun to run out with the camera and try to capture the snow with what fall color remains. Time to bring in the bird bath and garden statuary?
Sunrise
A little later we went out with the jeep and crossed the stream to the woods..... With generally gray skies it was mostly colorless but beautiful.

Autumn Drive - October 11, 2009

Sunday was the perfect autumn day for a drive in the country. With heavy frost predicted for the coming week we knew it was likely that this would be the peak color for this year.
And others have not begun to turn........an unusual year.
The chopping of corn is underway.
Our neighbors have this young tree that makes me smile. It looks like it has been decorated with tiny pumpkins.
And this beautiful "burning bush"
Sunset in our own front yard!
