Westward Bound - the 13th Winter

It's hard to imagine that it's been 13 years since Vic retired.
One of the best parts has been spending the winters in the desert southwest.

The weather for the trip this year was less than ideal.
Rain, rain and more rain.
With lousy visibility.

Stopping on a dime is not an option with a total length of 53' and weighing in at 18,000'.  Fortunately there was never a necessity.

Passing through Lexington, KY is always interesting.
I always enjoy the painted panels, one of three above, at the entry to the airport.
They are proud of this gorgeous horse country.

I can't help but wonder what kind of person builds a place like this - also in the Lexington area.

Missouri was the only state where we had sunshine and we were
grateful.
And had a good laugh at this city with a sense of humor.

Next was Oklahoma - less than hospitable this time.
ICE FOG!

And a BIG cowboy.

The final night on the road was spent in Hereford, TX, the beef cattle of the world.
It's a delightful place to stay.
But, we awakened in the morning to more ice fog.

Finally, after reaching New Mexico, we saw sunshine once again!
Five days after setting out we arrived in Deming, New Mexico.

New Mexico,
The Land of Enchantment is where we plan to enjoy this winter.

Hidden Valley Ranch RV Park will be our digs for the first few months.
We have been here before but not with a jeep and never with this amount of time to spend exploring.

We hope you will join us on our explorations.
