We had the most unique experience last weekend. Friends Lucy and Don Cross had invited us to a party. It was in celebration of their 75th birthdays this year. And what a way to celebrate! Lucy is a quilter and a member of the quilt guild to which I belong. She is one of our more prolific quilters and has accumulated quite a stash through the years. Not that she hasn't been a generous giver - quite the opposite is true.
However this party carried her generosity to a new extreme. Every family attending went home with a quilt. They ranged from wallhangings to queen bed size.

Me with our new queen-size eight-point star in 1930s reproduction fabrics. If I look thriiled it's because I am.
I believe that they gave away in the neighborhood of 40-50 quilts. These bags were printed specially to hold the beautiful quilts.
Thank you both so much, Lucy and Don, for an amazing gift we will enjoy for many years.
