Nowhere near blooming and nary a bud but interesting foliage......one of the desert Evening Primroses.
Nearly ready to bloom - more interesting foliage......Gravel Ghost will have tiny white flowers.
So many colorful rocks with textures, stripes, folds and more....
Horizontal layers.......
and vertical.
Looks like what we call shale back east. This was a huge project first collecting all the rocks then layering and balancing. What fun to come across this cairn.
We came across this unexpected canyon-within-a-canyon that was too enticing not to explore on foot.
